The new art series is inspired by my work as a Disaster Service Worker in the county of Marin during the time of Covid. One of the hardest hit areas was the Canal District which is a tiny community adjacent to the San Francisco Bay in San Rafael. This is the invisible part of Marin where the majority of essential workers live - the grocers, the landscapers, the construction workers, the cooks, and the housekeepers. Each day as I delivered supplies and food bank donations to those in quarantine or helped people sign up for their vaccinations, I particularly found this part of Marin to be lively, bright, and uplifting.
The El Canal collection includes twenty giclée prints of my drawings, one linocut print in collaboration with a childhood friend, a t-shirt with my La Sombra design, and the second issue of Electric Lines Zine that includes some of my photography.
